Ramboll bolsters California–Denmark partnership through sustainability and infrastructure projects
Ramboll is at the forefront in supporting the new partnership between California and Denmark to advance cooperation in climate, technology, and innovation. Signed during the California–Denmark Partnership Summit on August 22, 2025, by California Governor Gavin Newsom and Denmark’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Lars Løkke Rasmussen, the memorandum of understanding paves the way for enhanced trade and commercial ties between the two geographies renown for sustainability and green energy commitments.
As a Danish-founded company with significant presence in the US and California, Ramboll has been leading the charge on crucial challenges highlighted at the Summit:
- Water resilience: Ramboll’s long-standing leadership in Danish–Californian water cooperation, including its airborne groundwater mapping collaboration with California’s Department of Water Resources, has become a model for international knowledge-sharing and innovation in combating drought and water loss across the globe.
- Decarbonizing data centers: At the summit’s workshop on sustainable digital infrastructure, Ramboll presented integrated design solutions for efficient, resilient, and low-impact data centers. Ramboll’s expertise, showcased alongside leading US technology companies and regulators, demonstrated how sustainability and technology advancement goals are far from being mutually exclusive, and can be developed in tandem.
