Facility for one of world’s top quantum computers is ready
Ramboll has completed the highly specialised Copenhagen-based buildings that will enable QuNorth to install and operate Magne, with everything from vibration and magnetic fields to temperature, dust, and humidity carefully controlled

Ramboll has completed the buildings that will house Magne, the commercial quantum computer being established by Nordic quantum company QuNorth in Copenhagen.
The milestone has cleared the way for QuNorth to begin the next phase of the project: installing the quantum computer and the equipment needed to operate it.
Creating a home for a quantum computer involves considerably more than preparing a conventional server room.
Ramboll has delivered the building and technical facilities required for Magne, including a computer room, server room and airlock, together with specialised systems for ventilation, electricity, cooling, compressed air and fire suppression.
Engineering a highly controlled environment for quantum computing
The approximately 80-square-metre facility has been designed as a highly controlled environment. Among the requirements are ISO 7 clean-room conditions, HEPA filtration, precise temperature and humidity control, vibration reduction, protection against magnetic interference and static electricity, and an inert-gas fire-suppression system designed to protect sensitive equipment.

Major Nordic quantum investment
QuNorth was established by the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, EIFO, and the Novo Nordisk Foundation, which have invested EUR 80 million in the initiative.
Magne is being delivered in collaboration with Microsoft and Atom Computing. QuNorth aims to give researchers, companies, and startups across the Nordic region access to advanced quantum computing capacity.
Ebba Carbonnier, CEO of QuNorth, says: “Magne will give us access to quantum computing capacity that can accelerate new solutions in areas including life science, chemistry, materials, and the green transition.”
She adds: “But that technology depends on stable and precise physical infrastructure. The specialised facilities are therefore an important part of making the technology usable.”
The project builds on Ramboll’s experience with advanced research and laboratory facilities, where building design, technical installations and operational reliability are critical to the technologies they support.
Magne is expected to be fully operational in early 2027.
