Ramboll streamlines operations to support client centricity, simplify the business, and strengthen future growth

The global architecture, engineering, and consultancy company is introducing a company-wide transformation to better serve clients and simplify its organisation, improve the speed of decision-making and support long term growth in line with new strategy.

Ramboll today announced the next step in aligning its operating model as part of a broader transformation to simplify the business, strengthen accountability, and support long-term growth with a clear vision for the future.

The new changes aim to create a simpler and more scalable organisation that is easier to navigate, better connected across disciplines and geographies, and better positioned to deliver integrated expertise and greater value for clients.

”Ramboll has strong market positions, exceptional expertise, and talented colleagues across the world. We are fully committed to help solve some of the most challenging problems our clients and society are facing. Yet, we are not fully realising our potential. This is in our own control to solve. Aligning our operating model is about making it easier for our people to work together across the company and bring the best of Ramboll to our clients,” says Christian Jensby, Group CEO in Ramboll.

    Streamlining the company

Over the past two decades, Ramboll has grown into a truly global architecture, engineering, and consultancy company with strong expertise, deep client relationships, and talented people across the world. As the company has expanded, organisational complexity has also increased, making it harder to collaborate effectively, make decisions quickly, and operate with the agility required by clients and markets. To address this, Ramboll intends to establish a single primary structure and streamline overlapping organisational elements.

"As Ramboll has grown over the years, so has our complexity. In many areas, our organisation has become difficult to navigate, decisions take too long, and responsibilities are not clear enough. Therefore, we are now taking steps to reduce complexity, improve collaboration, and support faster decision-making by removing some of the unnecessary tasks and internal coordination across our company. Due to our current organisational complexity, many of the affected positions are likely to be leadership roles, but roles on lower levels might also be impacted," says Christian Jensby, Group CEO in Ramboll.

    One global blueprint

As part of the transformation, Ramboll expects to simplify organisational layers by establishing one global blueprint for how the company is set up and reduce around 400 roles by end of November 2026, subject to applicable local consultation processes.

”My leadership team and I are convinced that this is the right thing to do for the long-term success of Ramboll. Our employees and leaders deserve a fit organisation that sets us up for success. Nevertheless, it is important to me to state, that the ones that may be affected are some of the most talented, dedicated, and high-performing professionals, we have ever had the privilege of working with, and they have been instrumental to our journey so far. Our responsibility now is to lead Ramboll into its next chapter with the same commitment to clients, colleagues and society, that has defined our journey so far,” says Christian Jensby, Group CEO in Ramboll.

Ramboll is committed to managing the process with fairness, transparency, and respect, and to supporting colleagues through the transition. The new organisation is expected to take effect from mid-January 2027, pending completion of those processes.
