Strengthening Urban Resilience – Key enablers for Dynamic and Resilient Cities

About: In this high-level session, key urban leaders will discuss how cities can strengthen their competitiveness and liveability in an increasingly complex global landscape. It will furthermore highlight actionable solutions and strategies for addressing emerging challenges – from housing affordability to climate resilience.

As part of this session, Ramboll, Urban Partners, and BLOXHUB will launch The Copenhagen Way: a new report capturing Copenhagen’s transformative journey to a global model of competitiveness, resilience, and inclusivity. The report provides both inspiration and actionable steps for cities worldwide seeking ways to combine urban regeneration, climate resilience, and social equity. Building on the report as inspiration, the discussions in the session will be forward-looking and evolve around the key question: which strategic choices must cities make today to secure a resilient and competitive future?

Offshore wind high-level dinner at New York Climate Week

High-Level Roundtable Decarbonizing Data Centres

About: The event will convene senior stakeholders from government and industry to explore practical pathways to sustainable data centre development. It will feature a technical session on water-smart cooling, followed by a broader discussion on the critical sustainability factors that define a net-zero data centre and the actions the industry can take to make such facilities a reality.

The session will be anchored by two recently published white papers from Ramboll and Grundfos, which provide fresh policy insights and performance frameworks for achieving low-emission, high-efficiency outcomes

New York City& City of Copenhagen Celebration Symposium

Ten Years of Climate Collaboration: Lessons Learned and Opportunities for the Future

About: This interactive symposium will consist of a morning and afternoon session. The morning session is being co-hosted by the NYC DEP, the City of Copenhagen and the CUNY-C3/Science and Resilience Institute and will focus on the New York and Copenhagen collaboration – how it has evolved, lessons learned, and next steps. We will discuss the Cloudburst Programs in each city - how it has grown in Copenhagen over the years, and how it is being adapted for implementation in NYC.

The afternoon session, co-hosted by Ramboll, C40 Cities, and the CUNY-C3/Science and Resilience Institute, will focus on leveraging these lessons-learned, with an eye toward the future. Specifically, we will explore opportunities and mechanisms for broadening the NYC/Copenhagen sister city reach, with collaboration across cities and sectors, to build integrated networks for addressing climate challenges – and provide inspiration that challenges traditional thinking.

Following the symposium there will be a reception from 5:30-7:30 hosted by Ramboll and the CUNY-C3/Science and Resilience Institute.
