Replacing the existing bridge from 1937, the project strengthens the strategic rail and road corridor between Copenhagen and Germany and supports increased passenger and freight traffic linked to the future Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link.

The Helsinki Airport development programme includes for example an impressive new terminal 2 with arrival and departure halls, new public transport arrangements and an extended Schengen gate area.  Ramboll is the main construction engineer for the project and is responsible for the structural design, design of infrastructure, geotechnical, heating, water, ventilation, cooling, electrical, automation and traffic planning.
