We are currently looking for a highly-motivated and energetic Air Compliance Managing Consultant to service the air permitting and compliance needs of our industrial and institutional clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, focused on air quality services, and a history of successful project management and business growth within the field. They will also possess the technical skills required to lead and execute complex air compliance projects, and the interpersonal and communication skills to enhance existing client and regulator relationships.

Join Our Environment & Health department
As our new Air Quality Managing Consultant, you will be part of the firm’s stellar Air Quality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and business leadership in the commercial, technology, manufacturing, government, energy, financial, insurance, and/or law sectors. In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to generate and maintain a volume of business sufficient to support the growth of the firm.

This individual will have experience managing consulting assignments, must work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, is expected to be proficient in the analysis and communication of information, and must be able to work cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making. They are expected to be proficient in all facets of project management. They must demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and developing Consultant and Senior Consultant level staff and to collaborating with colleagues throughout the Practice.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Air permitting and compliance assistance experience
  • Maintain regular contact with clients and develop proposals for environmental compliance related work
  • Experience conducting air permitting/compliance regulatory reviews
  • Responsible for the preparation of plans, reports, permit applications and other project documents; lead technical evaluations of data commensurate with experience
  • Manage the technical, schedule and budgetary elements of projects
  • Use prescribed and established methods to perform specific environmental engineering and scientific assignments
  • Provide regular and consistent communications to clients, regulators and project staff on key issues and developments
  • Gain and share knowledge through participation in technical societies and/or attendance at internal and external programs, to a degree consistent with individual and divisional goals
  • Be a leader in Ramboll’s safety culture, ensuring that our employees work safely
  • Engage with other senior practitioners within Ramboll to advance our brands (energy, water, environment and health) and standing with external stakeholders

Skills & Qualifications

  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering, minimally, with an Environmental Consultant background.
  • 10+ years of experience, with at least the last 5 years in the environmental consulting field, particularly in a seller/doer role.
  • Ideal candidate has prior experience in air permitting and compliance, etc. Other environmental compliance experience also considered.
  • Highly motivated, team-oriented individual to work in a fast-paced environment, with the desire and skills to provide client, project and staff management functions.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills are required.
  • Occasional travel (10-20%), as required.
