Consultant Wind Resource & Metocean Analyst – Offshore Wind Advisory

As our new Consultant Wind Resource & Metocean Analyst, you will be part of our global Wind & Site competence group within our Offshore Wind Advisory team, supporting the delivery of services related to wind resource and energy assessment, layout design, metocean site conditions assessments and design basis. Our assignments are of a diverse nature with both well-known and new market players, joint ventures and investment funds, and cover a broad scope of services within these scopes.

Your tasks and responsibilities 

As part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will take on diverse tasks and responsibilities in international projects of varied complexity and scale, such as: 

  • Evaluate wind and metocean measurement data  
  • Plan, procure, and monitor offshore wind and metocean measurement campaigns  
  • Support early project development assignments with yield and wind farm capacity estimates 
  • Prepare bankable wind resource assessments and site conditions assessments 
  • Wind farm layout development and optimization  
  • Prepare of bankable energy yield assessments  
  • Develop practical solutions to multifaceted problems  
  • Apply offshore wind experience to the ongoing commercialization of floating offshore wind  
  • Support our clients to successfully deliver offshore wind projects globally 
  • Support standardisation processes and initiatives across the Wind Advisory team aiming at developing standard and modular technical requirements for the contracting of the Wind Assessment scope in international projects 
  • Review and quality check work undertaken by colleagues 

 

Your qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; a master’s degree or other advanced degree is preferred. These must have been obtained with a minimum of a 2:1 classification or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated relevant professional experience in wind resource, site conditions assessment, data science, performance monitoring, tool development for application in these services.  
  • Offshore wind industry knowledge and a good understanding of the challenges and specifics of offshore wind resources assessment 
  • High level of proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are beneficial 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment 
  • Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and make independent decisions that promote / advance company goals and objectives 
  • Strong writing and communication skills with an eye for analytical and persuasive presentations
