We invite you to demonstrate best practice in sustainable design, early-stage passive analysis, building performance modelling, life cycle assessment and decarbonisation as we look for an enthusiastic and suitably experienced Sustainability Consultant for the Ramboll Engineering Centre located in Gurugram. The role will support concept design, competition projects and multidisciplinary design teams by translating sustainability ambitions into clear, evidence-based strategies and performance-led design recommendations.

We are seeking an experienced Fire life safety Engineer, based in India, to lead and deliver fire safety engineering solutions for projects in the UAE. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering, have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, and demonstrable experience in Fire and Life Safety (FLS) and fire protection system design for high rise and complex building projects. Prior UAE experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Fire engineering designs across projects from concept through construction close-out.
- Conduct fire hazard analyses, Fire risk assessments, and performance-based design studies.
- Develop and review fire protection strategies, smoke management, evacuation analysis, and life-safety design.
- Design and specify fire protection systems (suppression, detection, alarm) and interface with structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with UAE Fire and Life Safety Regulations, Civil Defence requirements, and applicable international standards.
- Prepare calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and tender/construction documentation.
- Support verification and commissioning, on-site inspections, and witness tests as required.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale projects.
- Engage with clients, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), and independent review bodies for approvals and certifications.
- Support business development with technical proposals, presentations, and risk assessments.
- Fire protection designs and fire modeling (CFD/FS) will be and added advantage.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in fire protection engineering, with explicit Fire and Life Safety (FS&LS) design experience, preferably in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of UAE Fire and Life Safety Regulations, UAE Civil Defence requirements, and international standards (NFPA, BS, EN, NFPA 92, NFPA 13/25/72, Eurocodes, etc.).
- Experience with performance-based design approaches and fire modeling (CFD/fire modeling) is highly desirable.
- Proven track record on large-scale residential, commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, high rise or critical facilities projects.
Registrations, Certifications, and Qualifications (to qualify for House of Expertise registration in Abu Dhabi):
- Relevant professional registration or licensure recognized in India and the UAE (e.g., engineer registration with Indian engineering bodies and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence).
- Membership in recognized professional bodies (e.g., Society of Fire Protection Engineers, NFPA, IFE, or similar) is advantageous.
- Certifications in fire protection design and safety analysis (e.g., Certified Fire Protection Specialist, Fire Protection Engineer certification, or recognized equivalents) are preferred.
Others:
- Valid driving license.
- Language: Excellent command of English (verbal and written).
- Eligibility for security clearance or compliance with local employment and residency requirements as needed.
Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex fire protection design projects from inception to completion.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in fire engineering design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, calculation software, etc.).
- Ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and deliver on time and within budget.
- Client-focused with strong presentation and report-writing capabilities.
- Willingness to work from India with periodic travel to UAE for site visits and client meetings as required.
