Joining Ramboll

As our new Senior Environmental Scientist, Air Quality, you will:

  • Work on air quality (AQ) and greenhouse gas (GHG) related project assignments.
  • Conduct complex air quality (AQ) analysis.
  • Develop criteria and toxic air pollutants and GHG emissions inventories for stationary and non-stationary sources using EPA and state emissions estimation tools including CalEEMod.
  • Perform air quality impact modelling using EPA dispersion models such as AERMOD.
  • Prepare health risk assessments using the Hot Spots Analysis and Reporting Program (HARP) model and state guidelines.
  • Perform ambient air sampling using EPA test methods.
  • Evaluate air pollutant and GHG reduction measures.
  • Process and analyze customer data using Python and other advanced computing languages.
  • Critically review local, state, and federal environmental regulations, draft regulatory applicability determinations and technical reports, and communicate findings to clients and regulatory agencies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or any applicable field and 3 years of related experience, or alternatively a Master’s degree in same and 1 year of related experience.
  • Experience must include working with CalEEMod emissions estimation tool, HARP health risk analysis tool, Python programming language, and state and federal regulations including the Clean Air Act, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Mandatory Reporting Requirement (MRR) and CARB Cap & Trade programs.
  • Minimal travel to support client work (<5%).

Salary Transparency Statement

At Ramboll, your base pay is only part of your overall total compensation package. At the time of this posting, this role is likely to be compensated at an annual rate between $79,000 and $83,000. Actual pay will depend on numerous factors, including experience, geographical location. internal equity. market conditions, education/training and skill level, and does not include bonuses. overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
