My name is Sakinah Pathan, and I joined Ramboll 18 months ago as a Degree Apprentice in the Public Health Engineering team. During this time, I have been able to appreciate all the benefits of studying and working simultaneously. I have saved years of building my career, as I am able to gain practical experience in the company, whilst being mentored by experienced colleagues eager to help develop my skills.
I have enjoyed being an apprentice here at Ramboll and experience all the exciting areas of our work. My team designs engineering solutions for fire, water, and drainage, and I have already been able to learn the calculations, regulations, drawing and BIM modelling techniques behind it. I’ve also been travelling with the team on site visits to see the practical application of our work. Recently, one of our site visits took us to a German factory, which supported our understanding of their operations, and the solutions needed.
I couldn’t have joined a better company, and particularly a better team to begin my engineering career. I cannot wait to graduate and continue working, to further educate myself within my field.
