Quarry Sites' Environmental Monitoring in NSW

Ramboll is undertaking for a private client a five-year environmental monitoring programme incorporating air quality, noise, meteorology, groundwater and water quality sampling across multiple quarry sites in NSW. It forms part of regulatory compliance to manage potential environmental impacts to air, water, groundwater and community in accordance with the Environmental Protection Licenses and Development Approvals.

The programme entails regular site visits and environmental sampling by our experts. Above and beyond this complex state-wide sampling exercise, we add value through a variety of automation, digitalisation and data management efficiencies including intuitive and easily accessible digital site dashboards that alert site personnel to exceedances or areas of concern.

The project also implements low-cost sensors in place of highly labour-intensive monitoring techniques that allow potential environmental impacts to be managed proactively rather than reactively.
