Singapore Management University

Achieving net-zero target through ESD solutions

SMU Connexion is recognised as the Singapore’s first on-site net zero energy building in the city centre. The five-storey on-site net zero energy building is designed to support the university’s innovative SMU-X experiential learning framework, as well as cultivate innovation and entrepreneurship. It will add over 8,600 sqm of teaching-and-learning space to SMU’s city campus.

Ramboll’s ESD solutions helped SMU Connexion achieve its net zero target through photovoltaic-generated power, round-the-clock operation with reduced energy consumption through passive design strategies, innovative PDV system, LED lighting with dimmable control, SMART control strategies and a converged power system.
