Grand Hyatt Hotel, Malaysia
A contemporary mixed development embracing vibrant spirit of the locale while providing oasis of luxury
Situated close to the Petronas Twin Towers, the 42-storey Grand Hyatt is a mixed development of hotel, offices and service apartments featuring a distinctive gold-tinted façade as a visual differentiator from the surrounding buildings. The constraints of site yielded a vertical stacking of individual programmes within the building footprint, thus necessitating the use of different structural systems for each stack.
Ramboll’s design solution introduced transfer floors in the tower that helped transfer loads effectively to the foundations, while maintaining the congruity of façade treatment and overall building form.
