Grand Hyatt Hotel, Malaysia

Situated close to the Petronas Twin Towers, the 42-storey Grand Hyatt is a mixed development of hotel, offices and service apartments featuring a distinctive gold-tinted façade as a visual differentiator from the surrounding buildings. The constraints of site yielded a vertical stacking of individual programmes within the building footprint, thus necessitating the use of different structural systems for each stack.​

Ramboll’s design solution introduced transfer floors in the tower that helped transfer loads effectively to the foundations, while maintaining the congruity of façade treatment and overall building form.
