Team Lead (m/f/d) – Offshore Wind Advisory

As our new Team Lead, you will lead our Offshore Wind Advisory Team in Hamburg. You will take on a key role leading the local team and focus on driving the full range of wind consultancy services in Germany as well as the global wind market. Besides your responsibilities as a Team Lead, you will take on a key role as subject matter expert. You will spend most of your time contributing insights and deliverables in your area of expertise for offshore wind farms around the globe along the entire project lifecycle, developing practical solutions to multifaceted problems. Our assignments are of a diverse nature with both well-known and new market players, joint ventures, and investment funds, and cover a broad scope of services as well as potential combination with other technologies, such as Power-to-X, where we would make use of the wider Ramboll expertise.

Your tasks and responsibilities 

As part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will take on diverse tasks and responsibilities in international projects of varied complexity and scale, such as: 

  • Line management of team with varying seniority levels in different competence areas 
  • Further grow Hamburg team, incl. career and talent development  
  • Set the strategic direction (clients & services) for the advisory market in Germany in collaboration with German Advisory management team (includes onshore wind and asset management) 
  • Support global offshore wind strategy to unlock and implement combined services from business areas of offshore wind engineering, offshore wind advisory, environment & health, and power-to-x 
  • Expand client base in Germany through proactive development of key clients 
  • If technical project management is one of your areas of expertise, you will be leading diverse projects with a focus on the following services: strategic advisory, owner’s engineering, auction support, pre-FEED (conceptual design), FEED and tendering / contracting 
  • If your areas of expertise are more in detail related to specific wind farm packages, you will set scope and direction on relevant packages for each project, using our extensive network of experts and get involved with potential projects already during proposal stage, delivering scope and cost inputs to the proposal 
  • Support various client types (e.g., project developers, sellers, lenders, governments, and non-governmental organizations) to successfully deliver offshore wind-related projects globally 

 

Your qualifications 

  • Master’s degree or other advanced degree in relevant discipline 
  • 10+ years of professional experience in consulting, project management or project development, of which preferably minimum 5 years in offshore wind 
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: wind turbine technology, floating wind, supply chain, electrical system and substations, foundations package management, transport and installation or general strategic advisory 
  • Profound industry knowledge and thorough understanding of design and engineering, project economics, interfaces, risks, and commercial aspects of offshore wind farm development 
  • Solid knowledge of framework, players, and dynamics of German offshore wind market 
  • Strong writing and communication skills with an eye for analytical and persuasive presentations 
  • High level of proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are beneficial 
  • Proven track record of developing, implementing, and improving business processes  
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with a structured approach to solving problems 
  • Open minded, team-oriented, self-driven, pro-active, and assertive 
  • High motivation to work in a growing multi-national team and in different environments  
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and make independent decisions that advance company goals and objectives
