Ramboll CEO Jens-Peter Saul has been included in this year’s TIME100 Climate list, which recognises the most influential leaders and organisations making progress towards building a sustainable future and addressing climate challenges.

The list includes decisionmakers, executives, researchers, and innovators from across the globe that have been vetted by TIME’s editors. The announcement was made in the lead up to COP30 Brazil.

“I am deeply honoured to be included in the TIME100 Climate list of leaders helping make a transformational impact for the benefit of our planet. This recognition is not mine alone, it belongs to each of our 18,000 employees at Ramboll whose expertise, dedication, and passion make it possible to advance our mission every day”

He continues: “Ramboll plays a key role in developing and deploying low-carbon solutions at urban scale. From integrating renewable energy into our grids, to reducing the erosion of shorelines with nature-based solutions, the TIME100 Climate recognition helps shed light on these large-scale yet often-overlooked actions that make our cities more liveable, while mitigating impact on climate.

“The expertise is already available – our projects show that it can be done. As the partner for sustainable change, we continue to work tirelessly to bring clients, business, and government together to ensure the investment and climate leadership we need for a just transition.”

Sustainability has been deeply embedded in Ramboll’s DNA since its founding in 1945. Over the past 80 years, Ramboll has developed and deployed large scale projects across decarbonisation, climate resilience, circular economy and biodiversity, supporting clients’ journeys towards low-carbon and net nature positive outcomes. Ramboll regularly participates in leading industry conferences and global climate convenings as part of the company’s commitment to impactful and sustainable change.

In February 2025, Ramboll was awarded an ‘A-score’ for disclosure from CDP. The score places Ramboll at ‘Leadership Level’ for implementing best practice that helps advance environmental stewardship and mitigates climate change risks.

This followed the Science Based Targets initiative’s approval of Ramboll’s net zero targets, including the company’s 2030 carbon reduction targets and 2040 net zero target, ten years earlier than the 2050 deadline for global net zero.

Jens-Peter Saul’s personal sustainability leadership is further manifested in his involvement with FIDIC, the Federation of Consulting Engineers. Among others, he initiated the Carbon Collaboration Initiative to share best practice and define a global standard for whole life carbon management process in the planning and infrastructure. This is critical as infrastructure generates significant greenhouse gas emissions.
