Electrical Engineer, Intern

Ramboll is seeking motivated and inquisitive Electrical Engineering interns in our Syracuse, New York office during the Summer of 2025.

Ramboll is accepting applications for the Summer 2025 internship program at our office located in Oakland, California. Each participant will be assigned a mentor who will guide them through project assignments. The program will provide internship participants with the opportunity to gain experience working in one or more practice areas. Our goal is to afford our interns experience with a variety of projects during the summer program to broaden their understanding an experience within their field of interest.

As our new intern, you will be a part of Ramboll’s diverse, creative, and collaborative team. As you work on challenging projects, you will be given increasing responsibility and rely on experiences managers and colleagues to offer support and a helping hand as you learn and develop in your role. Each participant will be assigned a mentor who will guide them through project assignments. The program will provide internship participants with the opportunity to gain experience working in practice areas such as design in Industrial Plants, Campus distribution, Lighting, Primary and Secondary Substations, power systems analysis, and Project Management and more. Our goal is to afford our interns experience with a variety of projects during the summer program to broaden their understanding an experience within their field of interest.

  • Candidates should be working toward a B.S or M.S degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, and should have an interest in pursuing a career in the field
  • Candidates with a cumulative gpa of 3.0 or above are strongly preferred. Candidates with the completion of 4 college semesters are strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • A curriculum including Power Systems, or a desire to learn about Power Systems on the job
  • Familiarity with drawing production tools such as AutoCAD, REVIT is favorable.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Preparing basic designs and performs calculations in support of projects, following design, construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools 
  • Analyzing survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, geologic data and other data to plan projects.
  • Gathers and records information to be used for writing specifications and review vendor submittals and drawings.
  • Visits job sites to gain field experience, broaden background, and develop practical engineering skills
