To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong technical background in industry engineering (Process, Chemical, Petrochemical, etc.), extensive experience as a Piping and Layout specialist, and the ability to lead project teams across Ramboll’s offices and geographies within the Plant Design discipline.
You will join our High-Rise Buildings Department
As our new Senior Engineer– High Rise Structure, you will be part of our global High-Rise department, Ramboll’s dedicated team of Highrise experts which have designed over 150 tall building projects globally, including some of the most technically challenging. You would be responsible to coordinate with project managers and/or engineers for Analysis and Design work in the Highrise department in Chennai to support the global department which also has offices in Copenhagen, UK, Middle East, and Singapore.
our key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Structural Design of Concrete / Steel Structures, understanding of various design methods and design accordingly.
- Experience in designing and modelling Highrise and complex structures using ETABS / SAFE / ROBOT is a must. Parametric design tools and algorithms, such as Grasshopper, Dynamo, or Rhino will be an added benefit.
- Able to interpret soil investigation reports and use appropriate geological design parameters.
- Able to work independently and apply practical knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and some work experience. Understands the specific needs or requirements of specific problems and apply skills/knowledge thereafter.
- Designing pre-cast and post tension structures would be an advantage.
- Be responsible for analysis, generation of structure loading schemes, wind and seismic loading calculations and Design of structures.
- Design and detailing for concrete and other materials.
- Working out the loads and stresses on different parts of a structure
- Using computer simulations to predict how structures will react under different conditions with knowledge of basic analysis techniques against lateral loads.
- Utilize applicable national and international codes like Euro code, ACI etc. for Reinforced concrete design.

- BE/B. Tech degree in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute. M.E. / M. Tech would be desirable.
- Must possess 12 to 15+ years hands-on design experience including the design of foundations, reinforced concrete / Steel structures.
- Must have a sound technical understanding of structures and experience of designing concrete / Steel structures, including both substructure and superstructure. Experience with the European design code (Euro code)/ American Codes is required.
- Candidates having experience in working with Multinational Companies / overseas will be preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience in BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination is a plus.
- Should be able to provide design and detailing inputs to technicians for developing REVIT Models and drawings.
- Proficiency in ETABS/ SAFE/SAP2000/ STAAD. Knowledge of any other software like RAMConcept/ S-concrete would be preferred.
- Should understand various stages of project deliveries.
- Middle East & UK projects experience is a must, American /Euro codes experience is a must, High-rise building is a plus, International companies experience is a plus, Gulf & UK (UAE in particular) previous residency is a plus.
