You will join our Ramboll Energy from Waste and Carbon Capture Team

This is an exciting, permanent full-time position for an energetic and efficient Civil Engineer.

Your primary role will be to support our global operations in preparation of Civil related work in Feasibility study to project implementation phase, including but not limited to:

  • Review, design, and detailing of civil and structural systems for complete WtE plants/ Thermal Power plants, including waste storage pit, boiler structures, turbine generator (STG) buildings, chimneys, silos, WTP, and balance-of-plant structures.
  • Coordination with Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and C&I teams to ensure integrated and constructible civil design solutions.
  • Preparation and review of foundation layouts, RCC structures, steel structures, equipment foundations, and pile foundations based on process and vendor inputs.
  • Preparation and review of civil drawings, GA drawings, IFC drawings, bar bending schedules, and structural calculations for power plant facilities.
  • Proposal engineering including civil BOQ estimation, cost optimisation, quantity take-offs, and scope definition during tender and bidding stages.
  • Coordination with vendors, Sub-consultants, and contractors during Proposal and Project phases to ensure timely completion and approval of civil engineering deliverables.
  • Review and approval of vendor civil drawings, calculation notes, and construction methodologies in compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Knowledge and application of international and regional design codes (IS, BS, Eurocodes, ACI or equivalent) as applicable to project geography.
  • Participation in kick-off meetings, technical discussions, and client/consultant review meetings for civil engineering deliverables.
  • Site engineering support including review of site conditions, constructability assessments, BOQ verification, RCC quantity control, and resolution of site queries.
  • Review of quality documentation such as ITPs, method statements, concreting protocols, and civil QA/QC records.
  • Support during construction and commissioning stages, including resolution of civil punch points.
  • Exposure to WtE, Bio‑CNG, MSW handling, RDF buildings, boiler foundations, turbine foundations, chimneys, and balance‑of‑plant structures.
  • Overall knowledge on plant auxiliary foundations, drain trench sizing, storm water collection system, special corrosive environment foundations/ buildings
  • Participation on 3D drawing review workshop, 3D building review meetings.
  • Ability to guide and lead a civil engineering team, including checking drawings and mentoring engineers and draftspersons.
  • Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • In total about 15 years of experiences with minimum of 10 years experience in Thermal Power Plants, Waste‑to‑Energy, or similar including EPC exposure.
  • Strong background in civil and structural design, detail engineering, and proposal engineering for power plant projects.
  • Experience in international projects with familiarity in overseas codes is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of vendor and contractor standards, construction methodologies, and site execution practices.
  • Proven experience in cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and civil scope optimisation during proposal and execution stages.
  • Ability to work independently and lead civil engineering activities, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Hands-on experience using structural design software such as STAAD, ETABS, SAFE, RCDC, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills in English for interaction with clients, consultants, vendors, and global teams.
  • Experience in WtE/Bio‑CNG / industrial infrastructure projects is a strong added advantage.
  • Diligent, detail‑oriented, systematic, and structured in approach to engineering work.
