Generator Specialist - Power Systems

Your new role

As our new Powerplants and Generators Specialist, you will work alongside a dedicated team of Power Systems engineers across a broad range of projects, in Denmark and abroad. Your role will primarily involve tendering and detail design of power plants, including turbines, generators, and transformer systems, across a range of power plant types and sizes, including thermal powerplants.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Performing detailed engineering design of synchronous condensers and synchronous machines, including excitation systems, protection, and auxiliary systems.
  • Developing interface definitions and specifications between synchronous machines and the grid, including transformers, switchgear, protection and control, and grid compliance requirements.
  • Creating tender specifications and conducting technical evaluations for synchronous condensers, generators, excitation systems, and associated transformers.
  • Analysing reactive power, short-circuit contribution, inertia, and voltage control performance, and recommending system and control improvements.
  • Coordinating closely with civil, electrical, control, and grid-connection colleagues to ensure robust machine–grid and plant-level interfaces.
  • Ensuring strict compliance with applicable grid codes, HSE, and environmental regulations.

 

About you

  • Proven experience with design of power plants, power generating systems, and synchronous condensers.
  • Experience working with HV projects (between 132, 150, and 400 kV systems).
  • Experience with both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Consulting experience on large-scale power projects with a strong client-facing emphasis.
  • Experience with gas-fired power plants is desirable.
  • Fluent English and an additional European language.
