Luca Sacilotto has over 15 years’ experience in project management, environmental due diligence, site characterisation and remediation. He has particular expertise in feasibility studies, detailed engineering of containment and remediation systems, design and operation of monitoring activities, risk assessment, statistical studies to estimate attainment of remediation goals and background threshold values studies, environmental damage evaluation and litigation support. Much of Luca’s work is focussed on the management of contaminated sites and brownfield assessments for industries including chemical, oil and petrochemical, pharmaceutical, mechanical manufacturing, steelworks and non-ferrous metal. He has developed and implemented complex remedial projects addressing a wide variety of contaminants in several hydrogeological settings including containment emergency measures (pump and treat, active innovative and physical containment systems, and capping), in-situ remediation (SVE/bioventing, air sparging, multi-phase extraction (MPE), non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) recovery, soil flushing, chemical oxidation, funnel and gate, natural attenuation and phytotechnologies), on-site (thermal desorption, soil washing, solvent extraction and land farming) and off-site (dig and dump) activities. Luca holds an MS in Environmental Engineering, is a registered professional engineer and is a member of Milan’s Order of Engineers.
