Rick Lockwood’s experience is diverse in the biological field, with particular expertise in the area of Toxicity Reduction Evaluation (TRE) and Toxicity Identification Evaluation (TIE) programs. His current responsibilities include statistical evaluations and reports related to these programs, as well as testing conducted under basic National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) toxicity testing protocols. Rick has a wide range of knowledge and experience in the culture and husbandry requirements of plant, invertebrate and vertebrate species. Project responsibilities also include development of Water Effects Ratios (WERs) and technical oversight of Toxicity Identification Evaluations (TIEs) and Whole Effluent Toxicity testing. He also has performed or participated in stream surveys, bioassessments of fish and macroinvertebrate communities and risk assessments. He is involved in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program of Ramboll Environ’s aquatic toxicology laboratory, and supervises the maintenance and performance of cultured test organisms. He has conducted research into fish pathogens and select chemicals in effluent toxicity tests. Rick also has assisted the treatability group in bench, pilot and analytical testing for various experiments. He earned a BS in biology from University of California–Irvine.
