Jim Fenstermacher is an expert in the area of fate, transport and remediation of per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) and a member of Ramboll’s emerging contaminant initiatives team. He assists project teams across the company with technical expertise related to PFAS properties and behaviors and contaminant remedial technology selection and design. In addition to PFAS, Jim has specialized expertise in the selection, installation and operation of soil and groundwater remediation programs, including in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), in-situ chemical reduction (ISCR), electrical resistance heating (ERH), bioremediation, in-situ chemical oxidation, zero-valent iron permeable reactive barriers (ZVI PRBs), vapor-liquid (high-vacuum/dual-phase) extraction, soil vapor extraction, and traditional groundwater extraction systems.
