Rajib is a managing consultant specializing in the science of soils, sediments, and water. His project experience includes evaluating water movement and chemical transport in industrial and agricultural soils, aquifers, coal-ash impoundments, landfills, wetlands, and surface waters. Rajib has studied the fate and transport of inorganic and organic chemicals, including trace metal(loids) such as arsenic and lead and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). He has employed groundwater and geochemical modeling tools to evaluate transport of chemicals in complex hydrogeologic settings. He has applied his expertise in environmental forensics and chemical fingerprinting to trace the timing and extent of chemical release from point and non-point sources.
Rajib earned his Ph.D. in groundwater geochemistry at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. He authored 10+ peer-reviewed articles and numerous conference papers on groundwater arsenic contamination in Bangladesh. Currently, Dr. Mozumder is an editorial board member of the Journal of Hydrology.
