Venkat Gadepalli Narasimham, Head of Bridges at Ramboll’s Engineering Centre located in Gurgaon, has more than 23 years of experience in the design and delivery of various infrastructure projects. As the Head of Bridges, Venkat has successfully led multidisciplinary project teams and facilitated cooperation between Ramboll’s different country business units in Europe and the Middle East, specifically in the Transport and Buildings sector. The Early Days Venkat holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Hyderabad’s Vasavi Engineering College and a Masters in Structural Engineering from Osmania University. Venkat began his career by being part of a project where the challenge was to develop a road along the shores of a lake including the construction of three minor and one major bridge around the NTR Gardens and Sanjeevaiah Park in Hyderabad. Growing with Ramboll Venkat has been with Ramboll India for more than eight years, where he is responsible for preparing feasibility studies, proof checking and project preparation for grade separators, major bridges and cross drainage structures. His areas of interest lie in conceptualisation, preliminary design, detailed structural analysis, preparation of technical specifications, and preparation of construction drawings with all necessary detailing aspects as per relevant clauses of code and providing technically feasible solution to site related issues. Venkat’s team work on projects for different country business units within Ramboll. He has held both project manager and project coordinator roles for various projects; with two prominent projects where he was responsible for conducting the assessment of gantries for Manchester Smart Motorway in United Kingdom and design of pre-cast culverts for railway tracks in Norway.
