Phyllis Fuchsman is a Certified Senior Ecologist with more than 25 years of experience applying ecological and toxicological approaches to assess environmental risks. Her broad project experience includes ecological risk assessment of contaminated sites, product stewardship, natural resource damage assessment, phytoremediation, habitat restoration, and natural recovery of contaminated sediments. Phyllis is a recognized leader in the development of ecological risk assessment methods, with more than 150 publications and presentations to her credit. Her expertise includes sediment and soil toxicology, aquatic toxicology, evaluation of biological community quality, and the effects of bioaccumulative chemicals on wildlife. Her chemical-specific expertise includes ecological exposures and effects of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), the pesticide DDT, mercury and other metals, antimicrobial compounds, pharmaceuticals, and UV filters, among others. Phyllis has served as a peer reviewer for USEPA and the US Department of Defense, as well as several scientific journals. She is currently an associate editor for the journal Environmental Toxicology & Chemistry.
