Location: Mumbai & Chennai
 

The Design Manager- MEP will lead a multidisciplinary team of design engineers to deliver end-to-end data
center design solutions across all project stages—from Concept (LoD 100/200) through Tender, RFP
support, and Detailed Design (LoD 300–400). The role requires strong technical expertise, structured
design management capability, and excellent client-facing communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of CAS, MEP, and BIM design engineers, ensuring high-quality andtimely delivery of design outputs.
  • Plan, allocate, and monitor design activities across all stages: Concept, Schematic, Tender,and Detailed Design (up to IFC, LoD 400).
  • Ensure design compliance with client requirements, international standards, and data centerbest practices (Tier standards, energy efficiency, resilience).
  • Act as the primary interface with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams—leading technical discussions, design reviews, and progress meetings.
  • Drive coordination across disciplines (CAS, MEP, BIM) to ensure integrated and clash-free design delivery.
  • Oversee preparation and review of key deliverables including DBRs, specifications, calculations, drawings, BOQs, and tender documentation.
  • Support RFP and tender processes, including technical inputs, design narratives, and value engineering.
  • Quality Control and Quality Assurance – ability to maintain highest standards to meet client expectations and expertise in QA/QC processes.
  • Identify design risks, manage changes, and ensure effective resolution of technical challenges.
  • Implement quality control processes and ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and BIM standards.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in data center design (MEP systems, power, cooling, and infrastructure).
  • Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary design teams and large-scale projects.
  • Deep understanding of design stages (LoD 100–400) and engineering workflows.
  • Excellent client communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on practical, scalable solutions.
  • Familiarity with BIM processes, coordination tools, and digital delivery frameworks.
  • Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in design and engineering, with significant exposure to data center projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large consulting projects for Data Center Design
  • Demonstrated experience to manage multidisciplinary team of CAS & MEP engineer.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading design delivery from concept to IFC stages
