Trine Stausgaard Munk new head of sustainability in Ramboll Water

As new head of sustainability by the 1st of July the experienced water professional Trine Stausgaard Munk will help clients and colleagues take sustainability to the next level. 

To support cities, utilities, industries, and other parts of the water sector in shaping a sustainable future Trine Stausgaard Munk is now joining Ramboll’s global water division, Ramboll Water, as head of sustainability.
Trine is a highly skilled and experienced water professional who has been with Ramboll and Henning Larsen Architects since 2013 focusing on resiliency, sustainability, and urbanism. As new Head of Sustainability in Ramboll Water Trine will be a professional lighthouse supporting clients and colleagues with relevant insight, knowledge, and experience from the wide area of sustainability in water. Moreover, Trine will be leading Ramboll Water’s internal sustainability task force which consists of sustainability experts from seven countries.

Strong accomplishments
Trine Stausgaard Munk already count many impressive achievements in her career, all directly or indirectly related to sustainability: In 2014 she constituted the Young Water Professionals Denmark which brought her the National Initiative Prize of the Danish Water Sector in 2016. Later that year she helped build strong relations to the New York City Department of Environmental Protection as project manager of the NYC Cloudburst Resiliency Planning Study.
In 2017 Trine became team leader for Ramboll’s liveable cities lab in Boston, and in 2019 she was appointed Head of Resilience in Water Infrastructure and Climate Adaptation. In this role and as part of the Downsview Masterplan with Henning Larsen she led a collaborative development of a comprehensive Sustainability & Resilience Framework.
Trine has also been deeply engaged in IWA (The International Water Association) throughout the years and was a member of the programme committees for the World Water Congresses in Tokyo 2018 and Copenhagen 2021 (online) and 2022 (in-person).
Pioneering the UN Sustainable Developing Goals in the water sector Trine helped promote the SDG framework in several conference presentations and workshops, and she was one of the initiators of the concept that later turned into the Ramboll Water Sustainable Development Goals Scoreboard which enables clients to measure the SDG contribution of their projects.
