Mette Søs Lassesen brings transcontinental perspective to SXSW
Market Director Mette Søs Lassesen lends her Ramboll expertise as a panelist at this year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) event on March 10 in Austin, Texas.
Themed “Rebuild, Rethink, Design-think Your City,” the 2018 SXSW event is hosted by Denmark’s Danish Design Center, Stiftelsen Svensk Industridesign in Sweden, Design and Architecture Norway and Design Forum Finland. The panel consists of five experts representing Nordic countries, including Mette Søs Lassesen, who also represents Ramboll in the US.
The panel discussion explores how urban development should be driven by both a profound understanding of how people move through the city and live in it, as well as new technology.
“Ramboll’s presence in all of the Nordic countries and in the US can bridge the Nordic perspective to other geographies,” Mette says.
She focuses her discussion on Ramboll’s signature style: finding the best sustainable solution, not just from an environmental or social perspective, but from an economic one, as well. There will be several case studies presented, including a comprehensive cloudburst management plan in Copenhagen and the work Ramboll has done with the city of Helsinki on “Mobility as a Service (MAAS),” which provides a single digital platform for mobility throughout the greater Helsinki region.
