Dr. Utsav Thapa

Utsav has more than seven years of academic research experience and one year of consulting experience. His work as a postdoctoral researcher at University at Buffalo focused on the complete degradation of PFAS using nanomaterials.

Utsav is experienced in analyzing targeted and non-targeted PFAS using liquid chromatography paired with high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS). As a Ph.D. researcher at the University of Nevada Reno, he worked on removing pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) from human urine using waterless urinal sealants and studied the release of PFAS in the air after agitation of aqueous film forming foam (AFFF).

He is experienced in designing removal technologies, performing bench-scale and field-scale studies, analyzing samples using HPLC, LC-MS/MS, LCHRMS, and CIC, and conducting site investigations.

Utsav has a Ph.D. in environmental engineering.
