Key Competencies

Sarah is the UK E&H GIS Lead and Digitalisation Service Line Deputy. She heads up the Ramboll UK Major Projects GIS team and is GIS Technical Lead on all UK Major Projects and Programmes.

Sarah’s project focus lies in delivering comprehensive GIS data analysis and effective data management solutions, encompassing a wide spectrum of industries and disciplines.

Sarah's proficiency shines in the environment, transport, urban planning, defence, nuclear, and energy sectors. Her engagement in significant undertakings, such as the High Speed Two project, the UAE Holistic Plan; a strategic spatial master-planning initiative for the Ministry of Public Works, and intricate wind farm layout analyses and Environmental Constraints Assessment for E.ON's offshore wind farm and cable routing underscores her impactful contributions.

Sarah's key competencies span data management, 2D spatial analysis, 3D modelling, and the application of cartographic principles to elevate the quality of GIS outputs. Her exceptional skill set and extensive project involvements highlight her aptitude for navigating complex challenges and delivering solutions that align with the unique demands of each project.

With a proven track record of successful project implementations and a deep-seated commitment to excellence, Sarah continues to make invaluable contributions to the GIS field while consistently raising the bar for quality and innovation.

She is a Chartered Geographer, Fellow of the British Cartographic Society and ICE Knowledge Network member. She obtained a BSc Honours degree in Geography at the University of Northumbria and started her career as a Mapping and Charting Officer in the Ministry of Defence. After a role as an Image Analyst at the Defence Geographic Centre, she transferred to Defence Estates (DIO) as a Geographic Information Officer within the Renewable Energy and Statutory Safeguarding Team.
