Dr. Igor Mrdjen is a Senior Consultant in Ramboll’s Syracuse, NY office and has a wide interdisciplinary research background in public health and environmental health sciences. Igor has led, designed, and conducted research on various microbiological, water quality, mammalian, and human health phenomena, including research of toxicity and carcinogenicity in mammalian models; ecological and health impacts of harmful algal blooms; microbial source tracking of fecal contaminants; occupational health and safety; ecological and human health risk assessment of various compounds in the environment; and development of novel remote sensing and AI-enabled methods for imaging of terrestrial and aquatic phenomena. Igor is currently providing support on ecological, water quality and environmental risk assessment projects, and leads BloomOptix, a team working to develop accessible drone- and AI-based monitoring methods for algal blooms.
