Active in improving standards
Ramboll actively contributes to national and international committees and working groups. These are concerned with the development of new standards and recommendations in the field of masts and towers. For instance, Ramboll is heavily engaged in the IASS Working Group for Masts and Towers. We have also been deeply involved in the development of the ISO standard on atmospheric icing (ISO 12494) and the European code on towers and masts (EN 1993:3-1).
Computer programs
Ramboll has always been at the forefront of knowledge development in the field of masts and towers. In recent years, we have excelled in creating and improving computer programs for the design and analysis of masts and towers. The result has been one of the most advanced and sophisticated software packages in the world for this field.
Based on five decades of experience, Ramboll has developed a computer program called MAINMASTI – the most advanced and accurate computer system for full dynamic analyses of guyed masts.
Other Ramboll programs include RAMTOWER and VINDMO. RAMTOWER is a program for the calculation of lattice towers with triangular or quadratic cross sections exposed to wind and ice loads. The program VINDMO determines the wind resistance of lattice towers, including ancillaries.
