Landscape architecture

Landscape architecture combines function and design. Our environment affects our quality of life so it is important to create ‘good spaces’ where we feel content and happy. And most of us take better care of the places that we enjoy.
A brand new district is emerging in Silverdal in Sollentuna municipality, Sweden. Here the landscape is adapted to the design of the buildings

Harmonious landscape designs

Landscape architects work with a wide range of projects from schoolyards and kindergartens, to public squares and spaces. Planning is often carried out in collaboration with engineers and architects.

Site analysis is essential if the project is to achieve harmony with the existing landscape, whether the context is urban or rural. The landscape architect needs in-depth knowledge of plants and building materials to produce successful designs. Public places, for example, need materials that are durable, sustainable and easy to maintain.
