Spatial planning

Spatial planning and appropriate environmental assessments are often prerequisite to new industrial projects. At Ramboll, we are used to combining spatial planning, environmental impact assessment (EIA) and strategic environmental assessment (SEA).

We assist our customers with overall project management, including making assessments of the various environmental issues that might arise. We prepare relevant planning documents and negotiate with local and government authorities. We help local authorities prepare planning material, and we act as a sounding board in complicated planning cases.

Legal services

Ramboll also provides services to companies and authorities on legal requirements to make sure they comply with environmental legislation. We prepare environmental approvals, carry out environmental inspections, and prepare local environmental plans.  Our experts have many years of experience with the administration of environmental legislation.

In complex industrial projects, we help our customers plan for and manage authorisation processes to ensure they are flexible and efficient, and that the approvals are timely.

Risk assessment

Ramboll is one of the leading consultancies in risk assessments for a range of areas relevant to environmental impact, such as chemicals, safety analyses, fire analyses and protection.

Ramboll is experienced in analysing risks, and also in implementing solutions.  Design and construction are tasks that require maximum safety, so risk management covers the whole project from planning to implementation.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

The environmental assessment of products often involves an LCA to determine the environmental impacts throughout the life of a product (from raw material to production and from use to disposal).

We offer conventional cradle-to-grave assessments of products using internationally recognised tools and methods. We also carry out LCAs and lifecycle screenings of specific products, such as building materials and waste.

Product assessment

We have the expertise to prepare product assessments according to customers’ specific needs. For example, we compare how different products contribute to global warming, pose potential health risks and contribute other potential environmental impacts. 

CSR and sustainability

CSR and sustainability are not just trends. They hold the keys to responsible business. And they have become a vital part of corporate strategies.
