Zuckerman Institute for Connective Environmental Research (ZICER)Chancellor's Drive, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UKSustainability was a priority for the client in the construction as well as the performance of this new concrete frame building. We've used locally sourced recycled aggregate in foundations and are introducing embodied energy calculations to produce an environmentally auditable building. Structure and services are integrated using a fabric energy storage system. We are also incorporating photovoltaics as part of the University's commitment to the minimization of environmental impact. For this project, our recent pioneering work on 3D building modelling went live, producing all construction information including material quantities and simulation of construction sequences from a single computer model.
