Principals Steve McGinnis and Rob Rottersman along with Managing Consultant Aaron Hackman have written the article “An Introduction to the Complexities of Lead in Drinking Water,” recently published as a feature in the summer edition of Natural Resources & Environment, the quarterly journal of the American Bar Association, Section of Environment, Energy and Resources (SEER).
Their expert insight delves into the history of lead in drinking water infrastructure in the US. Plumbing systems designed for water conveyance have been constructed with lead for millennia, and continued in the US through the 1980s. Recent incidents – including the highly publicized identification of elevated lead levels in drinking water in Flint, Michigan – have renewed interest in the risks associated with the legacy of lead use.
