UK Shelter Forum 20

In its 20th year the UK Shelter Forum (UKSHF) will focus on 'Shelter, Protection and Protracted crises’. Jeremy Foster, Director, is presenting at the forum to raise awareness of the HUB concept - a group of humanitarian and private sector members that provide technical support to the humanitarian sector in disaster response. Danish Royal Visit to Sweden

Ramboll will participate as part of a Danish royal delegation to Stockholm: Lars Riemann, Executive Director of Buildings, will give a presentation on how "Integrating different energy systems to complement each other increases the total share of renewable energy in the system", and Nicklas Sörensen, Managing Director of Ramboll Sweden, presents on "Developing sustainable cities with people and quality of life in focus". Launch of the CIRIA Hidden Defects roadshow, hosted by Ramboll to rollout (C764) ‘Hidden defects in bridges – guidance on detection and management’.

Dr Paul-Jackson shares his particular expertise in the real behaviour of structures, assessment, codes of practice, non-linear analysis and strengthening bridges. His tried and tested non-standard assessment approaches have enabled clients to avoid costs of unnecessary strengthening and rebuilding work. Paul is also speaking at the second roadshow date on 4 July.

IStructE annual People and Papers Awards Luncheon and prize giving

Dr Paul Jackson has published several papers relating to the multi award winning Hammersmith Flyover (phase 2) strengthening project and his paper ‘Partial safety factors for reinforcement’ (Structures, Vol 5, February 2016), jointly written by the late Professor Andrew Beeby, won the IStructE award Best Research into Practice Paper Prize 2017.
