Francesca holds a master's degree in structural engineering from The Politecnico di Torino, which is Italy's number one engineering university. During a stay in London, she got to know Ramboll and decided to move to Denmark to join the company.”
I work with offshore projects in the North Sea. I am originally from Italy, but moved to Denmark four and a half years ago.
At the age of 26, I was appointed technical manager for the subsea pipelines on a project at the Gina Krog field in the North Sea. I managed 15 people and the design of 60 km pipelines as well as contact with the client, suppliers and manufacturers. It was a big challenge, but we did it – and that makes me proud.
Freedom with responsibility
One of the best things about working in Ramboll is the high level of responsibility. Here, everyone is heard, regardless of gender, age and experience. If you demonstrate your capabilities, you will be entrusted with great responsibilities early in your career.
Another factor that Francesca enjoys about working in Ramboll is the flexible working hours. You can form your work day on a flexible basis and there is a good balance between work and private life.
In the summer of 2011 Ramboll won the detailed design of the offshore substation for DONG Energy's Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm in the UK. The wind farm is estimated to make a significant contribution to the UK government goal of installing 33GW of wind production by 2020. The contract with DONG Energy included the conceptual and detailed design of the entire substation, covering both jacket and complete topside design.
