Ecological Services Principal & Principal Consultant

Job Description

Ramboll Environ is seeking individuals with 20+ years of technical and consulting experience in ecology, ecotoxicology, ecological risk assessment, natural resource management and related disciplines for Senior Level Professional (Principal and Principal Consultant) positions with the firm’s Ecological Services team in North America.

Areas of focus may involve:

  • Assessment of ecology, sediment and water conditions in ports/harbors and waterways and planning for environmental remediation and coastal development
  • Baseline environmental assessment of land and aquatic environments
  • Conservation and protection of endangered species
  • Ecological restoration planning and oversight
  • Ecotoxicology and ecological risk assessment
  • Environmental sampling and field surveys
  • Environmental remediation assessment and risk-management
  • Environmental damages assessment and impact analysis
  • Natural resource management

Educational Requirements:

PhD or Master’s degree, with certifications and/or licensure, as appropriate, in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Toxicology or Environmental Engineering. Exemplary individuals with a Master’s degree and related experience may be considered.

Desired Skills:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and business leadership and collaboration with US and international professional organizations, as well as technical leadership and strategic guidance to clients of the firm in the commercial, energy, financial, insurance, and/or law sectors. In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to generate and maintain a volume of business sufficient to support the growth of the firm.

The successful candidate will have experience managing consulting assignments, must work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, is expected to be proficient in the analysis and dissemination of information, and must be able to work cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making.  The successful candidate also is expected to be proficient in routine consulting activities such as project management, tracking billable time, communicating schedules, overseeing team members and sub-consultants, data analysis and final report production. He/she must demonstrate a commitment to mentoring Associate and Manager level staff and collaboration with colleagues throughout the Practice.
